Dainik Bhaskar expands its footprint; launches 59th edition

To further firm its foothold in the Bihar market, DB Group is planning to launch two more editions in August – from Muzaffarpur and Gaya. Over the next 20 days, the paper will also launch seven district editions in Hajipur, Purnea, Biharsharif / Nalanda, Arrah, Chhapra, Samastipur and Darbhanga. This will complete Dainik Bhaskar’s full foray in Bihar.

With the second highest urban population to Patna and a literacy level of 81%, Bhagalpur seems to be a promising city for DB, providing a deeper reach to advertisers and for readers.

Even with other competitive dailies in town, the residents have whole-heartedly embraced the publication’s new offering. "Our newspaper has made very deep positive first impressions with new readers in all our launches, all of which have contributed to another landmark launch success story,” quoted the group in its press statement.

“We are very encouraged with the overwhelming response to our launch in Bhagalpur. We have been studying the Bihar market for long and while we sensed and explored high market potential in Patna, we were also excited with the economic potential of Bhagalpur—the second prominent city of Bihar with the second highest urban population to Patna and a literacy level of 81%,” DB Corp managing director Sudhir Agarwal said in a statement.

DB Corp is the largest print media companies with leading newspapers in four languages, Hindi, Marathi, Guajarati and English across 14 states in 59 editions. With a total readership of 44-mn, Dainik Bhaskar Group is the largest newspaper group in the country.
