With the installation of a new AGFA CTP at Jammu, Kashmir Times Press became the first print unit to install a CTP platesetter in the state.

"The new installation is important to our vision of printing as it has matchless printing ability with distinctive features to save time and money" said Prabodh Jamwal, chief editor Kashmir Times.

This machine has a characteristic of automatic platemaking with a speed of upto 40 plates per hour. This improves the quality of newsprint with accuracy, exposing more newsprint as compared to the manual process and saves time. A manually exposed plate has an ability to print one lakh copies, the plates exposed with an Agfa CTP (Plate Rite-2055vi-s) has the capability to expose three lakh copies.

A reputed newspaper, Kashmir Times was established in 1933. Kashmir Times owns two more publications: Dainik Kashmir Times (in Hindi) and Jammu Prabhat (in Dogri) along with an edition of an English newspaper from Srinagar.
