Speaking to PrintWeek India, Jayant Pardiwala, director at Nippon Color, which represents Cron in India, said, “We are in a time, when companies whose core has been offset, have to address the broader issue of retaining competitiveness against the growth of digital. Hence, there is a need to move into creating new products that will have a positive impact for all offset printers, say from two-page to VLF.”

As a result, Pardiwala said, the company has opened a high-tech plant that will produce lower-cost, precision plate production, a focus on CTP automation from plate loading to quality controlled processing and the creation of colour management links to the actual press run. “I still haven’t received the complete list, but expect Crone to show their latest FlexoSetter, a new GI+ model of UV CTCP and a couple of more innovation.”

In the last three months, Cron has seen eight installations of its UV CTCP and one thermal CTP in India.

Cron’s founder and CEO Mike Xiang has said that the company has set itself the ambitious target of being the ‘guardian angel’ of offset, and feels offset will continue to excel in volume print but also has much more potential in short runs. "We are working towards the ultimate and perfect solution: eco-friendly, high quality, economic returns, simplicity of operation and faster turnarounds.”

Cron is located in Hall 5. The company will run live demonstration incorporating the benefits of each element of its integrated approach to offset competitiveness at its stand at Drupa.
