Chennai's M K Printpack installs Brausse 1050 SE

Multi-location packaging experts M K Printpack completed installation of India’s first Brausse 1050 SE automatic die-cutter and sheet laminator FMZ - 1260B from Chinese manufacturer Meiguang at its unit in Chennai.

“This latest installation positions our company to grow its business and marks a new milestone. With the growing presence of special economic zones in and around Tamil Nadu, South India is fast emerging as a new manufacturing hub attracting attention of national and international manufacturers covering various domain. Hence opportunities for packaging industries are also gearing up to galore,” said Nizamappas, business head of M K Printpack.

The 1050 SE which works with a printing press style feed works at a maximum mechanical speed of 7,500 cycles per hour for a maximum sheet size of 1050x750mm.

The company started in 1981 has units at Daman, Haridwar and Vapi apart from the facility in Chennai. Its clientele include brands in beauty, cosmetics, oral care, home, pharma and health, liquor, Tobacco and FMCG.

“There are further investment plans for the Chennai unit with a possible six-colour Komori press as the immediate consideration,” said Nizamappas.

The company across locations have three Heidelberg CD 102 six-colour press, two Heidelberg five-colour press and have recently installed a KBA VLF seven-colour press at their Daman unit.

The Brausse 1050 SE and the Meiguang sheet laminator installations were carried out by Chennai-based Suba Solutions.
