Brand new Omet launches on 19 May

"The two new Omet launches – the Variflex V2 offset printing press for flexible packaging and carton, and iFlex label printing machine, will be the best for the Indian market," said Harveer Sahni, managing director of Weldon Celloplast, the Indian representative for Omet in India.

Omet is set to unveil the two new label presses at an exclusive event on 19 May, 2015.

Speaking to PrintWeek India, Sahni said, the iFlex is a new philosophy of machine building. “The emphasis has been made to deliver utmost productivity with fewer parts involved.”

He added, “With the V2 850mm, Omet will be able to give a true combination press in the wider format too.” The machine, it is claimed, will be able to print with flexo, gravure, offset, screen and digital technologies.

While informing that the significant features that help enhance label applications and the two kits’ USPs will be discolsed during the official launch, Sahni, said, Omet has time and again changed the way machines are built. “With the new entry level iFlex, printers wanting to upgrade to Omet technologies will have a favourable price point and benefits which will match the high-end machines available.”

While the iFlex press is targeted mainly towards printing of labels and supported substrates, with the Veriflex V2 850mm, Omet is bringing the advantages of inline offset printing technology for wide web customers. “Omet already has had amazing success with their offset sleeve technology on the X6 platform. Now the wide-web customers can use this technology to print on thin films such as shrink sleeves, etc for packaging enhancements.”

Following the launch, from 20 to 22, May, Omet will open the doors of its Lecco plant to customers who want to watch the demonstration on the two new presses, as well as Omet’s other range like XFlex X6 and XFlex X4. The registrations to the official presentation are now open.
