Boxtech hits 400 installations milestone

As 2017 closed, Bengaluru-based manufacturer of folder-gluers, Boxtech Bangalore completed 400 installations since its inception in 2000. Moreover, in the first 60 days of 2018, the company has already installed seven folder-gluers, informed, general manager, Ajay Nayak.

Interestingly, more than 250 installations are in the northern states of India. Nayak explained why small and medium-sized carton makers swear by Boxtech folder-gluers, “We understand the client requirement and offer machines that are affordable and produce high-quality cartons, and most importantly, we focus on after sales support. These affordable machine models are suitable for micro industries which cater to canvassers.”

Boxtech offers two variants of folder-gluers – straight-line cartons and crash lock bottom cartons – in more than six different sizes and also provides necessary customisation for an array of applications.

“We have supplied machines for eraser and sharpener sleeves, trapezoidal-shaped kulfi cartons, dangler-type ball pen packaging mono carton, and cartons with partition. At Pamex 2017, we showcased smallest lock bottom carton of open width 108mm on our Velocity folder-gluer machine. We are yet to venture into four-corner and six-corner boxes,” added Nayak.

Talking about the manufacturing capacity, Nayak says, “Currently, we manufacture and deliver four to five machines in two months, and our shopfloor capacity is up to 10 machines. We are planning an expansion to double the capacity as we see a rise in demand for our carton folder-gluers.”

Boxtech was established by Ajay’s father, Ananth Nayak in 2000. In the first four years, the company sold four to five machines in a year. “We struggled to get orders till 2005. We did not have marketing representatives; our machines were marketed by ‘word of mouth’ from our happy customers. In 2007, we exhibited our machine at Ipex South Asia 2007 in New Delhi for the first time followed by PrintPack India. This gave us a good exposure and brand reach.”

At the recently concluded Pamex 2017 in Mumbai, Boxtech booked six orders for folder-gluers. The company has also exported few machines to Dubai, Tanzania, Nigeria, Angola, Nairobi, and Ethiopia.

In 2018, Boxtech has installed machines at Civni Packs in Haryana, Ahmedabad’s PM Packaging, Mumbai’s Liberty Graphics, Vinayak Printer in Kotdwar, Uttar Pradesh, and RR Printers in Ghaziabad among others.
