Borkar Packaging sets target of Rs 300 cr for 2014

Borkar Packaging, one of the largest converters of duplex board in India, is aiming to increase its turnover from the existing Rs 150 cr to Rs 300 cr in 2014.

Pramod Borkar, the managing director of Borkar Packaging said: "We are aiming to achieve a turnover of Rs 300 cr in 2014. For which we hope to target 30,000 tons of cartonboard conversion per annum in all three units. This means 24.30 lakh sheets / month and sales of Rs 2.5 cr from each of our printing lines."

Borkar added: "The group is aiming to ensure carton wastage is below 4% for paperboard cartons and 8% for Met Pet and PP cartons. Our in-house systems ensures 99.50% of quality product acceptance among our customers."

Borkar has factories in three locations: Goa, Daman and Nalagarh (Himachal Pradesh).

These three factories are muscled by four Manroland 700s, Planeta, KBA and Dominant along with a battery of Bobst die-cutters and foil stamping machines.

In 2004-05, Borkar added a factory at Nalagarh unit which caters to the expanding northern markets - and avail of excise duty exemption.

This cutting edge unit is powered by three six-colour Manroland with an inline coater, Bobst kit, foil stamping machines as well as finishing equipment.

The unit in Goa which will be dedicated for exports is on a expansion mode with the addition of 100,000 sq ft shopfloor space. The group expects to add new hardware to meet increased demand.

The three multi-location units service FMCG, pharma, liquor, food and beverage, household products and personal-care and specialty products for the top corporate brands.
