In July, Silverpoint launched its brochure to introduce the concept of Augmented Reality (AR).

Makasarwala said, “This brochure is an attempt to take print beyond the usual, ink on paper, to a level where you can connect to the digital world through print.”

This Diwali, we at PrintWeek India, received an AR-powered greeting card from Silverpoint. A print job with UV finishing, which gets alive with the AR technology. It shows a QR code to download Silverpoint’s app for android and iOS platforms.

The app takes control of your device’s camera. When you scan the image on the card through this app, a video pops up, which introduces you to Silverpoint. With this technology Silverpoint’s mantra goes ‘Why just print, make it interactive’. This is what Makasarwala will explain during his presentation on the evening of 7 November.

According to Makasarwala, the AR technology has applications for every vertical, be it automobile, industrial, electronics, fashion, etc. Today, Silverpoint is in a position to provide the clients with quality printed brochures and a client-specific AR app for viewing the brochure.
