The machine, which can cut 45x45-inch paper, was installed at Amber’s new print production facility located around 10 km out of the city. The site is spread in a 2,00,000 sq/ft area, of which 37,000 sq/ft is constructed.

Five Star Machinery has sold more than 60 FPC 1150 paper-cutting machines. The machine is available in six sizes – 26, 30, 36, 45, 61 and 65 inches.

Wafa Abbas, owner, Amber Press, said, “We are establishing a new and bigger unit outside the city and are making print production more automatic. The paper-cutting machine is a part of this.”

Amber had ordered two such machines during PrintPack India 2017. While one machine has already been installed, the other is on its way.

Amber had its bag full with some heavy-duty purchases during PrintPack 2017, including a Komori Lithrone G37, and web offset presses from Faridabad-based Ideal Printographics, besides other ancillary equipment.

“We are expanding. The investments should continue for another few months. Up next, we are planning an eight-colour perfector,” said Abbas.

Right now, Amber is converting around 3,000 tonnes of paper per annum. “After the expansion, our daily printing capacity will be around 35 tonnes per day,” he added.

Established in 2003, Amber Press services the commercial and book segment.
