The company also announced that Alwan will launch the Windows version of its leading CMYK Optimizer software at the PrintPack India 2013 show. Alwan's new X suite of software enables publishers and printers to use Alwan's leading technology for newspaper, commercial and packaging printing, across workflows and platforms.

AGS is the Indian representative of Alwan Color Expertise.

“The Print Standarizer’s supported ISO 12647-2/3 as well as G7 calibration and assessment for offset, digital, flexo and screen printing, is considered among the powerful process control system available today,” said Vishnu Kamat, associate vice president  – sales at AGS.

He added, “With the new cut down version, Alwan has provided an option for digital printers that support hand held spectrophotometers like X-Rite i1. The company has addressed this with the new Start version. The Pro version is designed to work with on-press spectral camera systems from QuadTech and GMI."

According to Kamat, another new feature in the latest version, 4.6, is support for X-Rite’s XRGA colour data standard. XRGA normalises colour data from X-Rite and former Gretag Macbeth devices, to improve inter-instrument agreement. “More and more print companies in India are implementing or are in the process of implementing standards, and hence there is a great need for common common measurements across instruments and plants," said Kamat. XRGA, he claimed, could reduce the disparity from a delta-E of five to less than one.

The software supports Substrate Corrected Colorimetric Aims (SCCA). This feature is needed to implement the US G7 specification, but can also help printers working to ISO 12647 methods greater flexibility in their paper choices.

Elaborating on Alwan’s CMYK Optimizer, Kamat said, “With more than 1,000 installations worldwide, Alwan CMYK Optimizer remains a leading automated colour server with its integrated Dynamic DeviceLinks® technology for publishers and print service providers.”

The CMYK Optimizer has the ability to adapt to all types of workflows and printing devices, including offset, flexo, gravure, screen and digital, as well as large and wide format devices which can see as much as 30% in savings in expensive inks.

AGS, which will be present at the PrintPack India being held at Greater Noida’s India Expo Centre from 23-28 February, 2013 will be showcasing a wide range of Alwan Colour Expertise’s products, including the new support to Print Standarizer 4.6. AGS plans to offer Alwan’s promotional pricing and product bundling during the show.
