As per the AIFMP communique, before March 2012, the AIFMP was opposed to any form of anti-dumping duty on the import of digital CTP plates.

On 16 March, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department of Commerce (Director General of Anti-Dumping and Allied Duties) submitted its recommendation for imposition of the ADD. The four years’ data was collected and it was observed that every year import of these plates has been 24-27% of the domestic demand.

Ranjan Kuthari, the president of AIFMP said, "Considering the scenario, the department’s recommendation for imposing of ADD to protect domestic industry, we at the AIFMP took a stock of the entire scenario and were focused to find a solution for the best interest of the industry."

"For the growth and support to the print industry, we need domestic as well as imported materials. We proposed to the Government that at least 30% of the domestic demand of digital CTP plates should be imported; and in addition 70% of demand supplies from domestic source is essential."
