Ahmedabad’s Shree PrintWell installs HP Indigo 7900

The new press replaces the Indigo 3500, installed seven years ago, which was the first in Gujarat.

Besides the HP Indigo 7900, the company is equipped with Heidelberg presses, Kodak CTP and machinery for soft and hard case binding. The company has ordered a Komori six-colour plus coater, which is under installation.

“The new press will cater to our photo book brand Photo Orange, primarily,” said Dwipal Patel, director at Shree Printwell. “We want to redefine print when it comes to photo book, right from speed to never seen before effect. That was one of the reasons we upgraded to this kit.”

The Indigo 7900 is a seven-colour press, capable of handing canvas, synthetic, lenticular, metalised and transparent plastic sheet with white ink, has inline auto spectrometer for colour and paper calibration and an automated print quality control.

The print specialist in Ahmedabad will also utilise the 7900 for commercial and packaging clients for niche short-run print and prototyping. “We will be able to carry out effects with the white ink on dark media or on metallised papers. These effects will be possible even for a single print,” said Patel.

He added, “Our investment in new machinery is part of our objective to stay ahead of the curve, and enable us to produce out-of-the-box products for our clients.”
