The company unveiled Magic Touch, a new water-based coating which addresses the tactile sense and visual perception; Plastic Star, a new coating system; TerraEffekt UV Silver G 7/880 system and advancement to its existing FoodSafe series.

Rohit Madan, chief executive officer at Mumbai-based R M Associates, representative for Actega, said, “The new Magic Touch is an economic alternative to lamination and can be applied using the offset or gravure process.”

Madan was also upbeat about the other products, which according to him can deliver “high-value” finishing. “The TerraEffekt UV Silver G7/880 uses extremely thin and homogeneous aluminium plates that have been produced under vacuum metallisation, which enable brilliant metallic print effect,” said Madan.

The Plastic Star system, which according to Madan was in the limelight for its plastic-like effect on substrates, has been developed for products like covers and folded boxes and can print full area using sheetfed offset process. The two offline units apply first the UV primer and then a special UV coating. The result is a dense structure form which characterises plastic haptic effect, said Madan. “It’s a system that enhances durability of the products in challenging environments,” concluded Madan.
