3rd Indo-German Conference on Packaging Printing

The third edition of the Indo-German packaging printing conference will be held on 22-23 November in Mumbai.

The conference will commence at 9am and end at 5pm on both the days. The conference will be hosted by pmIndia, and is a joint venture between the Institute for Print and Media Technology, Chemnitz University of Technology, Germany and Graphic Arts Technology and Education, India.

Kiran P Prayagi, chairman of the conference said: "this conference brings together experts from the European and Indian printing industry to discuss the science and technology involved and to provide expertise in the area of special applications."

"The conference program focuses on the current industry trends in packaging printing, including functional printing and its role in packaging and label printing, developments in the printing processes for packaging and label applications and security aspects in packaging and label printing."

In the event that spreads over two days; day one will include an interactive session on what to expect from DRUPA 2012. This will be followed by a lecture on the various aspects and the future trends in packaging printing, security and brand protection, automation and quality control. These sessions will be led by professor Dr. Arved Huebler for Print and Media Technology at Chemnitz University of Technology, Germany, Rohit Mistry, chairman, Holotech India and Markus Schnitzlein, president and CEO, Chromasens.

The day two of the conference will have a session on expectations in implementing green packaging printing, migration and health problems, energy saving and sustainability. The sessions on the day will be led by Srinivas Kulkarni, general manager, technical, Micro Inks and ATE Enterprises.

Eminent panelists such as Sameer Mehendale, packaging development manager, Cadbury;  Soma Roy, senior executive, Parle Agro and Prabuddha Dasgupta, group leader, packaging development, foods, Unilever will be present at the event.
