3M has also partnered with EFI and HP on two new inks. GSr 3M premium UV inks were developed for the EFI Vutek GS5000r printer and its HP 3M LX600 is a special latex ink for HP Scitex LX600 and LX800 printers as well as the Designjet L65500.

Prints produced using these inks on 3M media are covered by the 3M MCS warranty.

Also present were: inkjet ink provider Bordeaux Digital PrintInk who showcased their range of wide- and superwide-format digital inks at the show.

In addition, there were ink technology companies like Sepiax.

According to Alexander Lauusegger of Sepiax, "Resin ink such as the water-based ink from Sepiax needs 55 degrees C; which is less than 100 degrees for latex ink."

Resin ink thus does not fry, bake, melt or damage inkjet substrates. PE substrates can be deployed with resin ink. And less ink per square metre.

The company is not represented in India, as yet.

One came across Chinese firms like Inkwin Inkjet Technology, based in Shanghai, which provide 15 tons of solvent inks to the India market.

There were other Chinese companies, who refused to talk "officially" to this writer.
