Prasad Sathe, marketing head of 3D Technopack, said, “Earlier it was not possible to print halftone on the surface of co-extruded plastic tubes so we required labels. Now with the new German machine which combines screen and flexographic printing, we are able to do so hence the need of labels is eliminated.”

German machine installed by 3D Technopack first prints white colour on the tube using screen printing and then halftone dots are printed on the earlier printed white colour by a flexo unit.

Sathe added, “With the advent of this technology, we are able to eliminate labels from the tubes. Our clients from pharmaceutical and FMCG sector are shifting to these screen-flexo printed tubes.”

The company has its manufacturing facility at Silvassa which includes three tube manufacturing and printing units and two caps manufacturing unit. It has a production capacity of 1.2 crore tubes per month and despatch capacity of 1 crore per month.

"We are the only company in Asia which supplies co-extruded tubes with printed surface," added Sathe.
