"We are looking forward to the reception to this innovative and much-needed product from the market. We expect to have our first installation in about four months," said V Vaidyalingam, director at Suba Solutions.

The three-feeder automatic flute laminator has a maximum size of 1450x1100 mm and is said to be suitable for laminating two single flutes into four-ply corrugated boards.

Talking about the packaging finishing market in India, Vaidyalingam said, "The opportunities in this specific market is growing at a quick pace but at the same time competition is increasing too making it a tough market especially with some people doing business with no clear long-term effects in mind."

The company which crossed over 1000 installations of their products and machinery is said to have managed 70 installations of their flagship Eterna, folder-gluer and die-cutter machines in 2017.

"I think as a manufacturer and service provider we have to always be in innovation mode and stay excited. This means we have several things in the pipeline. Apart from the five-ply laminator and we are trying to bring in a special window patching machine which can also do embossing," said Vaidyalingam.

The company has also done good business with Osblam, offline stripping and blanking machine which they launched in early 2017.

"A Chinese invention, Osblam is personally my favourite product in our line-up and an ideal fit for our product portfolio by filling the gap which exists between our die-cutter and folder-gluer. We have in fact sold about 20 of this beauty which solves a common problem and can not only improve quality of the packaging product but also save valuable time," he explained.

"PrintExpo is one show in Chennai that has printers from all southern states visiting and we believe the organisers make quite an effort to bring in the right crowd. Like I always say this platform gives us the opportunity to renew contacts, meet industry friends and add a few potential enquiries in the bargain," said Vaidyalingam.
