The beginning
In 1993 when we had decided to make a small humble beginning in the packaging industry, my father, Ramesh Kejriwal had just finalised a Bobst die-cutter, which was the first machine in India after a gap of 12 years.

The machine had still not been shipped and he asked me to pay a visit to their Lausanne plant to understand more about the technology. This happened to be a week after graduation when I was on my way back from the US.

I was privileged that my first factory visit even before I landed in India was to the Lausanne plant of Bobst. To be honest I don't remember much of the technology I saw or understood but I still remember two things - a world-class infrastructure and a team which had immense knowledge about the packaging industry. The Swiss hospitality was at its best with a fresh white asparagus lunch at the plant.

Similarly, I vividly remember, that a few years earlier, in 1987 we were the first Indian company to get the Heidelberg 102 with CPC control. We had an open house for all our commercial print buyers. I was in the tenth grade but witnessed an event which I will never forget. Our customers were awestruck with the print results and the quality the machine produced. It was indeed a proud moment for all of us at Parksons and especially my father, who was instrumental in introducing this technology to the Indian print industry.

Our endeavour is to continue on this journey, to work with world class suppliers of technology, and provide the industry with new and innovative solutions.

The many firsts
We have been accredited with many firsts in India such as UV printing technology in 2005, duo press in 2007, in-line Braille embossing with gluing in 2010 and most recently cold foil technology in 2015.

We believe that technology upgradations and adoption are the DNA of our company and we shall listen to our customers and learn from our technology partners to provide world-class solutions for the folding carton industry.

As our customers continue to expand both in volumes and geographies, we are committed to grow and get closer to them in order to serve more efficiently. Each of our plant locations has been built with that singular objective. With this fifth plant in Sri City, we have created a confluence of west, north and now south giving us a greater reach and bringing us closer to most of our customer’s plants in this region.

Pan India presence
I am happy and proud, and on behalf of all of us at Parksons make this formal announcement that our sixth plant in Guwahati Assam in North-east India will start commercial production from March 2017. This will truly make us pan India.

We believe that as we grow in size it is important to reassure all of our customers that we shall never lose sight of customising their experience with our service, quality and innovation capabilities. For that purpose, in 2016, we have created three independent verticals for our product offerings – branded packaging vertical for the home and personal care – food and beverage industry; telecom; and the white goods industry.

The healthcare vertical will serve the pharma industry with folding cartons and patient information leaflets including outserts.

The gable top vertical with an end-to-end solution will provide packaging systems and the packaging material mainly to the food and beverage industry.

This gives us an opportunity to provide customised solutions in the manufacturing process, order execution, and cost- competitiveness to all our customers.
