Tech gyaan on wide-format printing

Lipton Shop
The graphics was applied on the walls of HUL’s Lipton tea shop.

Pre-press: The design was provided by the customer, which was processed inhouse at Excel.
Press: With the print run of 75 sq/ft per shop, Excel printed 5,000 sq/ft for this job on HP’s 8ft latex machine on Maxflex outdoor white vinyl substrate of 100 microns. According to Excel, printing on HP machine gives an outdoor life of three years.
Post-press:  As a part of post-press operations, the printed substrate was coated with a clear lamination using roller lamination machine.

Ponds Glass
This job was reproduced in 200 copies of various sizes ranging from 100x300mm to 1,200x250mm.

Pre-press: The design was supplied by the customer and was processed inhouse to meet the printing requirement.
Press: This job was printed using Grafica’s screen printing machine on 4mm thin optically clear low iron glass. According to Excel, this job required sharp edge printing and so mirror ink was used to impart mirror reflection effect on the surface.

Window Display
The unique poster printed as window display for a shop was made to look more glamorous enhancing the beauty of print by front lit focus light.

Printed on special silver metallised polyester substrate using HP Latex machine for Virchand showroom the window display was decorated by applying selective gloss to highlight the ornaments.

“The metallic finish makes it look grand,” said Excel.

 

Wallpaper
A single copy of the wallpaper, which was produced for Ajit Patil, took just five hours for printing and installation on to the wall.

Pre-press: The wallpaper was design was personalised as per the requirement of the customer. The printing area was 225 sq/ft.
Press: The printing was accomplished using HP Latex machine on HP PVC free wallpaper.

 “The care had to be taken was that the printing was odour free. Also, stain less adhesives were used. The wallpaper completely transformed the look of the room,” said Excel.
