Sachin and Sanjeev's Helpline: Matching colour shades with original

I, Shailendra Ganore, work at Magna Publications. We are facing colour managment problem in our pre-press. The colour gamut and shades especially for the ads in the magazine are different from the original. 

 

Shailendra, the pre-press system, as you know has a design hub, proofers and platesetter. At the design centre your monitor has to be calibrated and same goes with proofers and platesetter. The job does not finish here. Depending on the nature of the job, you will have to decide whether it will be printed on sheetfed or web offset press. The press too, should be caliberated. Depending on the position of the ad on the page, the ink release level should be adjusted. Also the cleaning of the press from paper to paper is important because the grades and the nature is different.
