The CDI Crystal XPS 4835 was new at last year's Drupa. At Labelexpo, the pre-press specialist will launch the next version of this flexo platemaking solution. The CDI Crystal XPS 4835 is a smaller size digital flexo plate solution. The technology delivers simultaneous main and back exposure of flexo plates, connected to the digital imaging device and the developing unit. Esko will show two new Essentials: WebCenter and Automation.                   

Evo Wave

A unique water-washable plate processor is what makes the presentation for Vianord at the show. Once the exposed plate is inserted in the machine, it is automatically and completely processed without the need of highly-skilled operators. Available in three sizes, Evo 2 (26x34-inch), Evo 3 (36x48-inch), and Evo 4 (47x53-inch), the Evo Wave is designed to accommodate all most popular water-washable plate formats. 

DEW AWP water washable plate
Asahi Photoproducts | Hall 5 , Stall A34

Asahi will launch the AWP water washable plate called DEW, which, the company claims is, three times faster in plate processing compared to the old plate version. The new plate offers higher overall equipment effectiveness for the printing press.

While live demonstrations of Kodak Flexcel NX Wide 4260, and Prinergy cloud will lit up Kodak's Labelexpo booth. Kodak's real show-of-strength is the launch of Flexo Hub, a flexo packaging technology centre in Brussels.

The new Lava NW is a thermal processor for tags and labels. It incorporates an internal filter system, an automated lift lid and LED illumination. Both the Lux ITP ‘M’ and ‘C’ plates can be processed in the Lava thermal system, generating press-ready ITP C plates.

SPGPrints’ will woo label printers with the new Rotalen 7511  laser engraver. It is a direct carbon dioxide laser engraving system for imaging rotary screens with resolutions up to 5080 dpi in one fully digital step, without film, chemicals or water.

In a bid to demystify colour, X-Rite Pantone has assembled three offerings – a free colour guide for label converters and another one for brand owners; and a Brand Starter Bundle offering, to get brands quickly started with colour and print quality program.
