Must See

Kama ProCut 76

Kama will launch what it claims is the world’s first flatbed diecutter for sheets up to 760x600mm, which will be shown with hot foil stamping. The new ProCut 76 uses a higher cutting pressure, a universal chase for dies of all sizes and suits production from presses such as the Speedmaster XL 75. The ProCut 76 offers packaging applications including cutting, creasing, perforating, kiss-cutting, cold embossing, hot foil stamping, combined embossing and hot foil, and hologram stamping. The company claims that the changeover from hot foil stamping to die cutting takes less than 10 minutes. Kama is represented by SRK Technology in India.

Baumann-Wohlenberg medium volume cutting system

Baumann-Wohlenberg will use Drupa 2012 to introduce a new cutting system designed for handling “medium level” cutting volumes for commercial printers. The system is arranged to deliver high productivity and clever ergonomics for operators. All the components of the system can be used automatically or manually, and can be operated by just one person. The cutting line consists of a BSB 3 L professional jogger, a Wohlenberg 132 guillotine with automatic waste disposal, and the new Baumann BA3 Ne unloader. The guillotine is equipped with a new automatic cutting system with lateral alignment pusher and sheet stabiliser. The system is designed to be an all purpose system, operated automatically or manually. Baumann-Wohlenberg claims an output boost of up to 50 per cent on other conventional cutting lines.

Heidelberg Diana X 80

Packaging is a core focus for Heidelberg, and a must-see in this segment will be the new Diana X 80 folding carton machine. The Diana X 80 has a working width of 80cm, and uses the new Diana Inspection Control and Diana Braille modules. Heidelberg says this machine is “perfect” for processing pharmaceutical packaging, and takes up little floor space. The new Stack Turner, Diana Feeder and Diana Packer can be added to the Diana X 80 for standard packaging jobs. The modular design of the Diana X 80 uses end-to-end servo drive technology. Separate drives enable other components to be integrated, including the new Diana Braille module and the Diana Inspection Control module, which enables the entire area of the blank to be checked. The new ejector module removes faulty cartons in the direction of travel when the machine is operating at full speed. The Diana X 80 will be available immediately after drupa 2012.

Manroland InlineFoiler

The key element of Manroland sheetfed’s Drupa presence, according to the company, will be “its solution for packaging market”. The Roland 708LV printing press will be equipped with a new indexed InlineFoiler. This is one of the few other developments, which Manroland has created based on research and customer feedback about market requirements. “We are geared up to showcase our innovative products and business solutions at Drupa to the Indian print community. Customers visiting the Manroland sheetfed will witness cutting-edge technology in packaging and commercial printing. We will announce the global launch of the new InlineFoiler Prindor with Indexing function which will enable up to 55% savings on cold foil consumption. With a new structure and strong focus, we look forward to welcoming our customers from India at Drupa,” said Anil Bhatia, managing director, Manroland India.
