PWI: When was your company's first sale? Where was the installation?
Parag Shah: We launched our print finishing equipment division during Ipex South Asia October 2007.  During the show, we were privileged to have a few customers across India. We had customers viz. from Koppara to Kottayam. Plus Sir Speedy from Hyderabad and Solar Printing Press from New Delhi.

PWI: You cater to a cross-section of digital printers, how can they get the most out of finishing?
PS: For digital printers; their profit is in sale of end product and not print. Conventional process of finishing are not helpful due to low volumes. I feel, small quick print finishing equipment help them deliver end products viz. visiting card, wedding card or initiation card quickly. Also space, labour and time are the three main factors. Our solutions help them resolve these issues.

PWI: What about the offset players?
PS: Offset printers have conventional processes and are low in productivity and labour oriented. Plus there is wastage and high make-ready time. While the new printing presses from Heidelberg, Komori, KBA or Ryobi help them print fast and more; their conventional finishing equipment do not match the speed. Our solutions offer high productivity, low labour dependency and no wastage. Most importantly, the make-ready time is less than five minutes. So the job turnaround time is quick. Of course quality of finishing from our equipment is an added advantage.

PWI: And in photo albums? Which is everyone's hot favourite these days ...
PS: The photo album segment is high labour, and the quality of finish and print to delivery time are some of the areas, where we help our customers improve. This ensures that they can do more than 100 albums per day.

PWI: Can you name any milestone print finishing sale that made you proud?
PS: Ocean Designograph in Navrangpura in Ahmedabad are able to generate more than 500 albums per day with our kit. The installation of seven paper cutters across a chain of digital copy shop in Chennai was another milestone.

PWI: How do you view the traditional book print segment in India?
PS: We see good growth in the book segments.  We also see excellent growth in training manuals. In fact we have excellent installations for training manuals.

PWI: How do you entice customers to invest? Any special finance scheme or easy payment modules?
PS: We believe in an ethical policy and do not over-sell. We show the complete picture to our prospects and let them take decision. Also, we have a strong after-sales service and  we are willing  to listen to our customers and resolve their concern areas.  We do have tie-ups with finance companies for equipment finance.

PWI: What are you showing at PrintPack 13?
PS: A range of finishing equipment that would enable printers to make more money, quickly. If you are a digital printer or offset printer or album maker or calendar manufacturer or diary manufacturer and wish to make quality print products and more money you must visit our stall. However, we cannot force you to make more money or offer better quality products. We would be offering some excellent solutions for digital printers, offset printers and also calendar manufacturers. We would be displaying new launches viz. Calendar rimming machine and automatic high speed creasing perforation machine.
