Udaipur’s Mewar Group opts for Flexibiz ERP solution

Mewar Group comprises of four companies — Mewar Polytex Ltd, Plastiweave Industries, Sun Polytex, and Harmony Plastics. It has ten manufacturing units – eight in Udaipur, Rajasthan and two in Gujarat. Combined they boost of nine tape lines; more than 350 looms; six lamination plants; ten BCS; four printing machines; multiple sewing machines, two yarn manufacturing plants; two re-processing machines and one SBPP plant.

Mewar Polytex was the first company set up under Mewar Group incorporated in the year 1979 as a private limited company when the founder of Mewar Group, BH Bapna, an engineer from University of California, returned to India after working for 14 years in USA, designing electric controls systems for Space Crafts. It was then subsequently converted to a public limited company in the year 1994.

The company is now an ISO 9001:2008 certified organization and export house. The company is an India based leading manufacturer of Polypropylene fabrics and its allied products. To cope up with the growing demand for PP fabric in various Industry sectors for packaging and other applications, the Mewar group successfully established manufacturing capability with a capacity of producing over 20,000 MT per year with the help of the high performing and diverse workforce level of around 1000 employees accompanied with seasoned set of Individuals as part of their leadership team with a successful blend of experience and intellectual skills.

Anil Bagga, director, Mewar Polytex is an industry veteran who was high posted in Lohia Corp before coming to Mewar Group two years back. He said the ERP was installed to make optimum use of the resources available to the organization. On selecting Flexibiz, he said because it was industry specific, it saved them time and money in giving the necessary input. Our faith further strengthened on seeing Live working through their system at a Woven sacks plant in Jodhpur.” he added.

Mewar Group is in two segments – woven fabrics (slit fence; spiral tubing; ground covers; bale sheets and bale box/ wraps/ caps) and woven bags (multi-purpose bags; gusset bags; bags with varied open style; bags with liner; transparent bags and multi-coloured printed bags).

Gaurav Bansal of Flexibiz said that it will take around two to three months for installation per plant. Currently, it is made live in Plastiweave Industries. The ERP Solution is built on .NET Framework 4.6 with Oracle database as backend. The server at Mewar Group resides at its HO at Udaipur. All plants work over private Leased line network.
