Seventh Canon DreamLabo press installed at Kochi’s Photopark

Canon India has installed the seventh DreamLabo 5000 digital printing press at Kochi’s Photopark Digital Press, located at the city’s Padma Junction.

The flagship photo printing press was launched in India in December 2013.
 
Photopark Digital is part of the family-owned Photopark photo lab business group, has over 25 outlets spread across Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Besides the latest Canon kit, Photopark has one HP Indigo presses as well a Scodix press installed at some of its outlets.

The DreamLabo 5000 features a high-density print head, enabling over 300 mm wide printing output and incorporates Canon’s FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) technology. When used in combination with the automatic double-sided printing function up to 12x25-inch size, the DreamLabo 5000 is equipped for printing around 1,000 pages of A4 size content and 2,300 pages of 4x6-inch size content per hour.
 
Inaugurating the press, Kazutada Kobayashi, president and CEO, Canon India, said, “Understanding relevance of wedding culture in India, we are elated to extend the prowess of DreamLabo 5000 today. This is our seventh installation, and it gives us immense pride to share that India is leading our South East Asia chart in adopting this technology.
 
According to Puneet Datta, director for professional printing products at Canon India, features like the seven-shading colour based ink framework and picture handling innovation of the DreamLabo, empowers the yield of photograph pictures with a level of colour representation which comprehensively outperforms that of ordinary silver halide.
 
“DreamLabo 5000 has become a benchmark for the best imaging solution for the industry globally, delivering a new standard of photo quality coupled with high productivity,” said Dutta.
DreamLabo 5000 has previously been installed in Kochi, Bangalore, Mysore, and Vijayawada.
