Rising plate demand drives Himachal Pradesh’s US Graphics to install Thermostar T9 platesetter

Kala Amb, Himachal Pradesh-based US Graphics has recently installed the Thermostar T9 thermal CTP. The T9, which has been running at the company shopfloor since June 2018, has already fired more than 40,000 plates. The kit was supplied by TechNova Imaging Systems.

The company specialises in packaging and commercial segments, where Vishal Sharma of US Graphics said, the demand for printing plates has been on the rise due to shorter run lengths of printing jobs. “That was one of the reasons to install the Thermostar T9. Besides, the machine’s high speed (22 printing plates per hour of eight-up) also attracted us to the CTP.” He added, “With the installation, we can now meet the market demand.”

The Thermostar T9 is an 8-up device with a 48-channel laser diode. The plate output is 22 printing plates of eight-up an hour. The device is stable and reliable with almost zero downtime and it is capable of exposing thermal CTP plates at 2400-dpi and 200-lpi AM screening.

Presently, US Graphics, as a service bureau, has around 60 customers in Kala Amb, Ponta Saab, Yamunanagar and nearby areas. The company, which works out of a 1,800-sqft area in Kala Amb, also provides designing services.

Sharma was all praise for TechNova’s excellent after-sales service and wide market presence, and that was yet another reason why he opted for the Thermostar T9. “Whenever we require support, TechNova’s team is just a call away.”

US Graphics operation is powered by Agfa Apogee workflow, a scalable modular software that provides “exceptional ease of use through its app like screen interface”, said Sharma.
