The company represents four European paper mills in India — Stora Enso from Finland; Eska from Netherlands, which is a manufacturer of Kappa book binding board; Winter & Company from Switzerland, a manufacturer of covering material for books, diaries, and fancy notebooks; and Favini from Italy for speciality paper.

“We are in paper business from more than 80 years. We sell premium materials. This is our first time at PrintPack India. Our experience has been very positive and good for our business,” Shobhit Jain of Shree Papers said.

Among the new products on display was the new heavy premium board called Sumo from Favini. “This is useful for photo framing, visiting cards, book covers and other applications,” Jain said.

The company also displayed new packaging boards from Eska, called Eska Colours. These boards are available in multiple colours. Jain said that rigid box manufacturers are using these for luxury packaging, such as whiskey, chocolate, and others. It is a FSC-certified, and EN71 certified for toys.

Meanwhile, Stora has come with food grade packaging boards which can be used to pack ready-to-eat items like sandwiches and others. “Now, our focus is on packaging. Every brand wants to sell its products in a lucrative pack and even consumers also want to buy products in an attractive pack,” Jain said.

Francesco Cimitan from Favini said, “India is among the growing economies in the world. We have a lot of expectations from the market. Some of the industries in India consume huge amount of paper, such as the wedding industry. We are very well positioned here with our ecological range of products.”

Cimitan is also expecting a huge growth for its metallic paper. “We have four distributors in India and Shree is one of them. We have chosen our representatives according to our product range and their penetration. We have been growing in India from last six years. Last year, we grow 22%,” he added.
