“Now, an Indian printer can opt for LED UV lamps at the local price, which would be around 80% more economical than lamps sold by American or European manufacturers, and 10% more economical than Chinese lamps,” CP Paul, managing director of APL Machinery said.

The company also launched 3D UV coating machine, which gives lenticular effect without printing. “You get the lenticular effect by 3D UV coating instead of lenticular printing, and it costs 10% of lenticular printing,” Paul said.

APL is offering the product in collaboration with a Chinese manufacturer.
Paul said, in the coming years, metPET printing will see a decline because of pollution control and ban on plastic. Cold foil is the perfect replacement for metPET. At the show,

APL displayed the cold foil system from US-based Eagle Systems.

“Online foiling is the best way to replace hot foil and cold foil, as it’s more eco-friendly. Also, it is an inline process which can be done during the printing. Inline cold foiling also reduces the production time drastically,” he added.

At the show, the company booked orders for multiple machines, including fully automatic screen printing set-up for a Panipat-based customer; and a 60-inch roller-coater for a Coimbatore-based customer.

The company also sold its LED UV systems to customers based in Kerala, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai.
