“The packaging and converting segments of the print industry has continued to raise the bar and uphold excellence in producing quality print and packaging products. Likewise, our products for the print and packaging industry too have over the years been consistent in keeping pace with the customer requirements in terms of performance, compatibility with newer machines and regulatory norms,” said Sanjiv Kalra, business manager at Pidilite Industries.

He added, “To win in the marketplace you must first win the workplace. Therefore, it is important to recognise firms that have gone the extra mile in the pursuit of excellence. Pidilite is proud to be associated with PrintWeek India Awards in acknowledging the best.”

Recently Pidilite teamed up with Germany’s Jowat in an adhesive technology collaboration for the Indian Subcontinent. According to Pidilite, the collaboration will help the company develop a comprehensive range of thermoplastic hot-melt adhesive to meet the demands of several industrial segments including packaging and labels, as well as modular and wooden furniture segments.

“Jowat’s products are globally accepted in the packaging, graphic arts and woodworking segments,” said Kalra. “We have also added Jelly glues to our range thus making us an end to end supplier for the packaging industry.”

Kalra is upbeat about the packaging and converting business in India. “It’s bound to grow at a good pace as it has been over the last few years. The industry will go through a lot of technological advancement and modernisation wherein lot of investment would be needed to scale up.”

But for the industry to take strident steps, technology adoption is the need of the hour. “Large players are focussing on widening their reach in various geographies and are investing on machines aiming larger outputs. Small and medium players will have to work on upgrading technology and enhancing their scale of operations,” Kalra said.

In its tenth edition, the PrintWeek India 2018 has received strong support from the print industry leaders. Besides Pidilite, Bhumi World, Bobst, Canon, Heidelberg, Kala Jyothi, Megabound, Sangeeta Polypack, Sona Papers, Toyo Ink, Toyo Ink Arets and Impel (Welbound) stand by the PWI’s flagship event.

The final deadline for sending the entries is 20 October 2018.

On 30 October 2018 at 18.99 Latitude Banquets in Mumbai, a panel of jury comprising of close to 40 print experts and print buyers from the corporate world will evaluate the print samples and decide the winners of the prestigious PrintWeek India 2018 Awards Prisms.
