The four-day Labelexpo India 2016, the Indian arm of the biennial show dedicated to the label industry, came into an end on 20 November 2016. According to Lisa Milburn, managing director, Labelexpo Global Series, all in all it was a good show.

“We are delighted the way the show progressed. We have received great feedbacks from the exhibitors. This year, we have seen more presses being sold compared to the previous editions of the show,” Milburn said, adding, “This is the benchmark for success.”

She added that this holds good not just for the future of Labelexpo in India, it is also an indicator that the label industry in India is buoyant and ready to charge ahead.

This year, the show shifted its venue from the traditional Pragati Maidan in New Delhi to India Expo Centre in Greater Noida. “Initially, we were little nervous whether visitors will warm up to the new venue. However, the visitors’ footfall in the last four days has proved that change of venue was not a cause of concern," said Jade Grace, event director, Labelexpo India 2016.

According to Grace, the numbers are not certainly down, which the organisers had initially expected due to the change of venue. She added that the exact numbers of visitors were not available as yet.

Going ahead, Tarsus, the organiser of Labelexpo is looking forward to Labelexpo Europe in Brussel in 2017. This time, the flagship show is going to be bigger than ever. The organiser has added one-and-a-half halls to the existing space this year, making it total eighth halls.

The next edition of Labelexpo India will be held from 6-9 December 2018 at the same venue. Grace said that the organiser has already received positive enquiries from exhibitors. In fact, by the time the show was over, 40% of the space for Labelexpo India 2018 was already booked.
