By 29 Jun 2016

As PackPlus, the packaging, processing and supply chain event, returns to Delhi on 27-30 July 2016, the organisers have put together a daylong international packaging conclave on print optimisation and colour management for flexible packaging. The conclave will be held on 29 July, 2016 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi together with PackPlus 2016.

The event has been put together by hands-on professionals representing leading companies in the field and the objective is to explore how the finally converted package in every instance preserve brand equity and deliver a consistent brand experience across printing processes, substrates, inks, colour rotation and myriad other outputs.

“FMCG products, brands, SKUs and pack formats are proliferating in a turbulent marketplace. In an environment where competition is intensifying, duplicates are becoming a menace and consumers are becoming cautious and choosy. In such an environment, colour management and packaging design becomes crucial for brand managers to maintain integrity across a brand family,” said Debabrata Deb of Future Formats, a packaging consultancy firm that has been involved in putting together the conclave.

The conclave will continue with its popular smart format that combines networking and knowledge sharing in an informal ambience. Interspersed between a keynote address from a thought leader and a round up and summarising of the takeaways from another key industry person will be three interactive sessions.

The first session will help in understanding the role of pre-press, its place in the workflow and how a sound pre-press output leads to not only to excellence in print. The second session will dwell upon the actual printing process, the ink kitchen, colour measurement, coding and usage of machine returned inks, colour match at minimum ink gsm, colour stability at maximum speed, reduction of set up time and control on wastage and repeatability of colour over multiple print runs. The last session will show how colour science and workflow discipline unlock the door to the wonder of colours driving that exciting first moment of truth for the awestruck consumer.

The panelists for the event are the experts drawn from different areas of the packaging supply chain who will enlighten the audience on actual implementation of colour management through their vast experience and case studies. Know how will be discussed along with know why.

According to the organisers the conclave will be invaluable for brand owners, package converters, packaging technologists, procurement professionals, pre-press and pre-media professionals, designers, material and equipment suppliers and consultants.
