CGSASP will debut its products at the Consumer Electronic Imaging Fair (CEIF) 2019, commonly known as Photo Fair scheduled from 10 to 12 January 2019 at India Exposition Mart, Greater Noida.

Kunal Gandhi of CGSASP said, Ramani Viswanathan suggested that we should explore the finishing equipment segment for photo albums. It’s a perfect combination because we have deep roots in finishing equipment business and Ramani has good knowledge of photo market. Now, he is associated with us.”

During Photo Fair 2019, CGSASP will display Condor Plus Pneumatic Machine (complete photobook binding machine) from Marcello Strada; and UniFoil Printer (digital printer for foil printing) and VPaper Tower creasing machine for photobooks from Peleman.

“Right now, we are showcasing manual machines, but soon we will have fully automatic machines for leaflet binding and those machines will be for photobook technology. People from both of our principals will be available during the exhibition,” Gandhi added.

The company will be working through its existing channel partners and have appointed partners from the photo industry as they have showed interest in the product range. “We have started with small and manual machines but we have entire range of fully automatic lines as well,” Gandhi said.

Ramani Viswanathan of CGSASP said the Indian photo album market actually hasn't seen anything new in terms of technology in the past couple of years, except newer/ faster/ bigger print engines in the CMYK segment. “What we are witnessing is a slight growth, in certain pockets, in the use of silver halide, as there have been many technological improvements and innovations in both print engines and types of substrates.”

The lay-flat photobook binding machine from Marcello Strada comprises of creasing, aligning, press and press-back units and works with a pneumatic system. The unique feature of the system is that the adhesive sheets used are removable. For instance, if wrong sheets are stuck together during binding, they can be opened up, and the adhesive sheets reused, without damaging the very expensive printed sheets.

The UniFoil Printer from Peleman is a digital printer that prints foil directly from a digital file not only on any flat surface but also the spines of books. With multiple options for foil colour, it allows personalisation of any product, including photobooks.

The Vpaper Tower from Peleman has been designed to turn double-sided printed or printable paper into lay-flat pages, one by one at a speed of up to 6,000 sheets an hour.
