Chennai-based Multivista to be part of collective stand at Frankfurt Book Fair

18 Jul 2012 |  Mihir Joshi   |   Comment Now

This year at the Frankfurt Book Fair between 10 to 14 October, top ten Indian book print firms will come together at the ‘Indian Printers Collective Stand’ to signal the positive changes in the Indian book print industry.

According to Mary Therese Kurklang, who is co-ordinating this initiative, "The Indian book print firms will display and discuss the collective strength of the country as a book print destination." Today, the Indian book printer is trying to overhaul China as a  premier book printing destination and tap into the vast domestic market.

Gopsons Papers, International Print-O-Pac, Jayant Printery, Manipal Technologies, Multivista Global, Nutech Photolitho Graphers, Parksons Graphics, Replika Press, Repro India and Thomson Press India will be part of the India stall which will be under the tutelage of Capexil - the non-profit trade organisation set up by the ministry of commerce.

Rajesh Jayaraman, vice president-marketing, Multivista Global said, “Our aim is to reach out communicate with our client who are mostly based North America and Europe and try and provide better service to our clients. Frankfurt Book Fair is such a huge event and so many movers and shakers of the industry will attend it that expansion of our operations and meeting new clients is also going to be major part of our to-do lists.”

The stall of the Indian printers is a brainchild of the National Book Printers Conference (NBPC) and the main objective of the stall is to promote the Indian publishing industry and try and tap into the emerging markets. The Collective India stand is a step forward towards making India the largest book print exporter by 2017 as discussed during the NBPC Conference in November last year.
