The Print Bazaar is planning to expand to the unexplored areas of Delhi NCR and north India through a franchising option.
Confirming the news, Sethunath P, CEO, The Print Bazaar said, “The expansion will happen through franchising with like-minded entrepreneurs or businesses who are already into similar businesses and want to upgrade to a chic, full-fledged printing store with great brand recognition. We have developed three models of franchise with different investment options depending upon the area/locality of the store. The only pre-requisite is entrepreneurial skill and hunger to create and grow. The franchisee company would need to have 500-1000 sqft of space.” Asked why the focus was more on expanding to the northern part of the country, Sethunath added, “The Indian Print industry, is currently valued at $20 bn and has been growing rapidly at 12-15% per annum. The digital printing industry opportunity, comprising of laser and wide format, is valued at USD 400 mn and is growing at 25-35% year-on-year. Of this, north India contributes to an approximate 34%.” The retail-print company, which entered the market in November 2010, was last in news after it shared its plans to raise an investment of more than 100-crore through private equity within one and a half year of its operations. The Print Bazaar currently operates five stores in Delhi NCR.
