India Offset in Delhi invests in a brand new Heidelberg CD 102 press

6 Feb 2012 |  Rahul Kumar   |   Comment Now
Delhi-based India Offset Printers pumped in money to buy a brand new four-colour Heidelberg CD102 offset printing press. Now, the company has 14 in-house offset printing units.

JP Sharma, managing director, India Offset Printers, said: “Being a commercial printer, delivery in less time with higher quality are the key points for us. And of course, the new Heidelberg fulfilled our gaps for the above.”

“The return on investment on a brand new press is not difficult if you have enough work to do else, it is slightly tough,” added Sharma.

India Offset was started in 1994 by JP Sharma and now his daughter Madhu Sharma recently joined in to support him in day-to-day operations. Madhu Sharma, general manager, finance, said: “I am new to the industry but being the daughter of a printer, printing runs in my blood and it will not be difficult to get in to the business.”

The company consumes around 60 plates per day with a size of 28x40 inches from TechNova to feed its multi-colour printing presses from Dominant and Heidelberg. “Our consumption of plates is less because we have long-run jobs,” added Sharma.

India Offset converts more than 25 tonnes of paper per day during its round-the-clock operations with around 150 employees. The commercial printing house owns two plots with a combined area of 40,000 sq/ft at Okhla Industrial Area.

The commercial printer prints annual reports, banners, books, booklets, brochures, calendars, catalogues, CD inserts, certificates, coupons, cut-outs, directories, dockets & inserts, envelopes, flyers, folders, cards, hand bills, leaflets, letterheads, magazines, newsletters, newspaper inserts, post cards, posters, souvenirs, stickers, steamers, strips and tags for its customers including Vodafone, Bharti Airtel, NCERT, Oxford University Press, Srijan Publication, Ratna Sagar and others.

“We will continue with offset printing and are planning to install a CtP and get some certificates including ISO,” added Sharma.
