HP launches new latex kit in India

3 Feb 2012 |  Noel D'cunha   |   Comment Now
Three months after unveiling two new DesignJet printers, the L26500 and L28500, HP formally launched the machines in the Indian market at a function held in Mumbai on 1 February.

HP also used the launch to showcase the capabilities of the two machines and setting the stage for greener technologies for indoor and outdoor advertising at the first-ever Latex Summit, an education programme for the print service providers (PSPs) on the advancement of latex technology. The two-day event was held on 1-2 February.

HP maintained that the new introductions are superior alternatives to solvent solutions and are eco-friendly, it also said that the Latex Summit provided a platform for HP to educate the printing fraternity and inform the customers about applications like soft signage, vehicle graphics, wall covering and other applications of latex technology like printing on leather, textile, Tyvek, canvas, flags, backlit films and mesh among others.

“HP has always believed in strong market presence in the printing space. Now with an initiative of reducing the carbon footprints, HP’s latex technology promises the consumer a greener tomorrow while providing him the best-of-the-class prints. The eco-friendly promise by HP will take the printing industry to a new paradigm and will create a benchmark for the brand advertising business,” said Puneet Chadha, director- GSB at HP India.

The 104-inch-wideHP Designjet L28500 Printer delivers speeds up to 70% faster than its predecessor (the Designjet L25500), while the 61-inch HP Designjet L26500 feature new HP 792 Latex Designjet Inks, which produce rich blacks and glossy results on banners and self-adhesive vinyl, and offer double-sided printing capabilities with less user intervention and more accurate, automated registration.
