Heidelberg authorises a dealer in Delhi for Saphira

1 Feb 2012 |  Rahul Kumar   |   Comment Now
Delhi-based Gem International is an authorised dealer for Saphira consumables range from Heidelberg in the Delhi-NCR region.

The contract was signed by Dalip Gupta, director, Gem International and Heidelberg authorities in Delhi.

Narinder Gupta, managing director, Gem International, said: “Printers are more aware now-a-days and ready to invest in good and slightly expensive products for long run.”

According to the agreement, the company would initially sell printing inks and font solutions and gradually move towards CTP plates sales.

Rene Schieber, business manager, Heidelberg India, said: “The number of dealers will vary on the market demand and volume. We will also have a direct presence in the market to sell our products and to support our dealers.”

Heidelberg India has plans to educate its dealers and printers for consumables. “Printers are ready to invest in better consumables because printing presses are critical capital investments, and no one would like to take risk with it. We are the oldest ISO 14000 certified company in the industry and provide CO2 free printing presses,” concluded Schieber.

Asked about the increasing material cost as well as the impact of the same on the market prices of consumables, he said: “Market prices for consumables is rather low that an impact of material cost increase as well as exchange rate fluctuation have a direct influence to the prices in the market. This differs to other parts of the world as depreciation, labour and social cost play a larger role and cushion the above mentioned effects.”

“Heidelberg consumables are competitively priced in the market. Nevertheless, the overall solution on the machine will bring the cost-benefit due to its mileage and lesser problems during print production,” he adds.

Gem International is the second dealer in the country after Ahmedabad-based Tri Murti to partner with Heidelberg India.
