By 18 Jul 2018

Poster art is celebrated the world over. In 1891, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, with his poster Moulin Rouge, opened his series of thirty-one posters presenting, among others, the nightlife of Parisian cabarets. Then there is the British artist Banksy — graffiti master, painter, activist, filmmaker and all-purpose provocateur.

This series shot by Salil Rohit Mehta, a friend of PrintWeek India in Ahmedabad spots some of the work on the walls of the National Institute of Design. The tongue-in-cheek works on the wall ensures art is no longer an elite pursuit but it belongs to the people.
