Visitor Speak: Ajay Patel and Umang Shah, Czar Labels, Ahmedabad

First time visitors, Ajay Patel and Umang Shah of Ahmedabad-based Czar Labels were at Labelexpo India 2018 to explore the choices in finishing equipment for labels. Czar, a part of AB Offset, ventured into label printing some six months back with the installation of a Gallus EM 280 eight-colour press. Now the company is looking at technologies to add value to its labels. “Value-addition is the key differentiator in label business,” Patel said.

Towards value addition, AB Offset, in partnership with Om Print Care and Ocean Deep Printers, invested in a Scodix with foil station. The machine, run by a sister concern, InoVision, is used in photobooks as well as packaging applications, plus print enhancement requirements of print companies in and around Ahmedabad.

While new in the segment, Czar is confident about the future. The company is mostly into long-run labels and focuses in segments like pharma, pesticide, and cosmetics.
