Fujifilm’s demo centre in Mumbai

Demo centres typically showcase a live experience of the latest hardware and software products in networked system architectures

Thought process to set up the demo centre
The idea was to create an experience for the customer by highlighting the different applications that are possible through UV printing and demonstrate how these are created from scratch.

Describe a typical demo that you provide…
We first connect with the customer to understand more about their current set-up and the jobs they create. We also understand what applications they are looking for, what substrates they want to see the demo on, and what files do they have. Accordingly, we plan and invite them to the demo centre. Once there, we run them through a presentation on Fujifilm and show them our sample gallery. In the meanwhile, our operator prepares the files. Once the customer is ready, we start the printing.

Number of customers that have visited the centre
Initially, when the installation number was low, almost all the customers would visit the demo centre. Now, with an increase in installations and our pan-India presence, some prospective customers prefer to go to our existing customer in the same region to see the machine demo. For new machines, we still conduct all the demos at our demo centre.

Any special program for training or skill upgradation?
We do provide training to operators for all our customers. These trainings not only involve running the machine but also about what applications can be created through UV printing and the innovation that they can do.

Do you host an annual show or networking event at the centre?
Not currently. Once we start our demo centre in Gurugram, we will have an annual event.

Have you planned an outreach with print buyers and brand owners?
With our corporate empanelment activity gaining momentum, we will be planning this very soon.

What about apprenticeship for students?
We do not currently have this. But it is a very good idea to train students and give them a feel about the industry. We will surely consider this.
